Done. Sold.

I bought an Asus Eee PC yesterday. After looking around on eBay and in the brochures that come in the mail, I found the cheapest Asus Eee PC in Australia. But it was unexpected. I had previously seen a pretty good price at Office Works which was $488, the same price WoW Sight and Sound were running.

The local Clive Anthony’s catalog has them listed at $496. I went into WoW at Kedron and the price is $488 as advertised. However, there is a new brand new Clive Anthony’s store over the road (Gympie Road at Kedron). I went over thinking “I’ll see if they will beat or at least match the price”.

When I found the Asus Eee PC in store, it was ticketed $448!! The guy said there was a problem, “we only have black in stock”. That wasn’t a problem, I wanted black. When he put it through on the computer, he actually said “Oh no, we might have a white one”. I asked how many they had in stock, he said “About 10″.

So there you go, at $448 it has to be the cheapest Asus Eee PC in Brisbane, if not Australia. I am not sure if all Clive Anthony’s stores will do it for the same price, maybe it’s only for the “new store” at Kedron. Either way, get your retailer to match that price, as now you know someone is doing the price that low.
